Million Dollar
Bimbo More Free Love Stories: Million Dollar Bimbo | The Range Rider | Thunderhead | Fair Game All morning she had attempted to reach him; he’d been
with the crew of cowboys working the Armstrong Ranch – about twenty of them in
all. Her dilemma involved a million dollar property deal which she now knew had
gone sour – a situation which would not only cost the ranch a lot of money and
wasted time, but also embarrassment. The situation had started earlier that morning. Ignoring
Zane’s orders Willow had went out on a limb, doing a bit of research. Due to
the small workload the cowboy was allowing her to perform, most days were
rather boring. And whenever he walked into the office unexpectedly, he would
‘give her the evil eye’ – as if she were wasting company time when in fact, she
had nothing to work on - her menial desk so….menial. If only she could have pursued her dream of becoming a veterinarian
– a dream that was currently on-hold. There was nothing she loved more in life
than animals. She’d had very high marks in college and had earned the necessary
science degrees. She only needed four years of veterinary college, then three
to four more years of residency.
Unfortunately it was the four years of veterinarycollege that was standing in her way. The local veterinarian, Doc Hughes had
extracted a promise from her that she would do her residency here – in
Springfield. After completion of her residency, they had decided that she would
take over the practice while Doc Hughes spent the rest of his days doing what
he loved best – fishing with his best friend, Hal. She had expected to be accepted to the veterinarian college
where she had applied last spring but things had not panned out, her choice of
college experiencing a mix-up with her application. By the time she had
reapplied, the classes were full. At least the college had offered her an
apology but unfortunately could not fit her in this year as their student criteria
had been met. Next year – next year for certain she kept telling
herself. That’s all the time she needed to last under Zane Armstrong’s
employment. Her thoughts spiraled back to her current dilemma which
involved twenty-five thousand acres of prime ranchland that Zane intended to
purchase for one million dollars. The ranch in question was well known for its cattle
operation – prime stock; there was a huge mansion on the property giving wide berth
for expansion. All in all, the deal was worth twice Zane’s offer, but given the
limping economy and his expertise in negotiations the property was selling for far
below market value. Attorney Morgan in Springfield was handling the
transaction for his client, Ms. Violet Sanders who had married the
recently-deceased rancher who’d been three times her age - young enough to be
his granddaughter. Violet was not only young – she was built like an iron
grill, tough and enduring – determined to get what she wanted, regardless of
the consequences. Old man Sanders hadn’t even known what had hit him when he’d
married the siren – a ‘dear’ in headlights. A desperate dear – concerned more
about Sander’s financial status than the man himself. And Violet was itching to have the money in hand – a
cool one million dollars minus attorney fees, agreeing to a short sale with a
deadline of twelve noon today. After that, the offer was off the table and the property
would be offered to the next bidder, local rancher Mister Brannigan who was
chomping at the bits to get his hands on the prime stock, the mansion and the
property itself.
