More Free Love Stories: Million Dollar Bimbo | The Range Rider | Lion of the Hills | Thunderhead Romantic Moments - Putting a Little Bubbly Into Your RomanceBubbles and romance go so well together! A little bubblebath, a bottle of chilled champagne…aahhh, can't you just see all of your problems floating away? Why bubbles are good for you. Bubbles are fun! Bubbles bring out the playful mood in all of us. Young people, old people, even skinflints love bubblebaths! Bubblebaths help you unwind in several ways. Aromatherapy - Aromatherapy stimulates the sense of smell and impacts the way we feel. Aromas act directly on the brain. Different scents react in different ways. For example, lavender increases alpha waves in the back of the head creating a relaxing sensation. Jasmine increases the frontal beta waves and may produce a more alert state. Inhaling essential oils can produce dynamic effects on conditions such as nervous tension, headaches, insomnia, and anxiety. They can also be effective in relieving respiratory complaints such as colds, allergies and bronchitis. Try adding a bit of an essential oil to your bubblebath such as citrus, floral, lavender, and peppermint. They may cave in your bubbles a bit, but after the excitement of those foamy peaks, the calming effect is glorious! Relaxing - Warm water has a relaxing effect on the body. Muscles unfreeze, breathing becomes more even, and the mind drifts off into Never Never Land. Bubblebaths are mood-lifters! Closeness - Sharing a bubblebath with you partner is intimate and brings out your most primitive moods such as splashing, laughing, touching, and smiling. Now that you are alone together, you can talk – or you don't have to talk at all. Uniqueness - A bubblebath is something that you probably don't do together very often, so it is unique. The same is true with sharing a glass of bubbly by the fireplace, or romantic picnics, or stargazing. Unique equals mystique; it echoes challenge, and is thought-provocative. It is good to keep a few precious, favorite things you both share, unique in your relationship. Other Romantic Props - Candles, flowers, and romantic foods are all good teasers for your bubblebath. Foods that quiver with romance are strawberries (or other delectable fruits) that have been hand-dipped in either white or dark chocolate, finger foods, and chocolate. What to do when your guy says 'no' to bubbles - Some individuals, mostly men in this case, refuse to surrendered to bubble time. If your partner will not even look sideways at a sudsy tub of bubblebath, you'll have to put things in his terms. If the champagne or other choice of bubbly spirits is non-productive, you may want to ask him the following questions to get your point across. What about the woman who wears her guy's shirt? Most people consider this romantic. What about the woman who wears a man's tie? This is rated 'ultra sexy' by many. Even though he may hem and haw, your guy will love the softness of the bubble water, and the tickle of the bubbles! Now put down that feather and let's continue. A few cautions - Exercise caution when using Aromatherapy. When used appropriately, essential oils are much less likely to produce side effects than over-the-counter drugs. If you have fair or freckled skin, you may be more susceptible in experiencing skin irritations such as itching or redness. It's smart to test an essential oil before using by placing a drop onto a cotton swab and applying it to the inside of your wrist. If you breakout or itch, this oil isn't for you. Pregnant women should not use essential oils unless approved by their physician. When taken internally, certain oils such as calamus, mugwort, wintergreen, sage and pennyroyal can induce miscarriage. Even inhalation and topical application are strongly discouraged. Don't get the water too hot. Hot water can scald, chap, and dry out your skin. It can also create life-threatening health problems such as stroke and heart attack. If you carry alcohol spirits into the tub with you, exercise caution. Hot water makes a poor alcohol mixer. Also, if you consume too much spirit, you'll loose coordination and could slip when exiting the tub, or be too giddy for after-tub fun. Consider non-spirited carbonated bubbly as an alternative. Keep the conversation on innocuous topics. This is not the time to discuss Aunt Fanny's crooked hip, or your friend Dick's hair problem, or your own financial problems. Save that for your kitchen table. Avoid staying too long in the suds or you'll end up looking like an infant eagle. Bubblebaths can also set off urinary track infections, just like ordinary baths. Do not drag balloons and cigars into the bubblebath with you. For one, you will feel painfully stupid if your mother-in-law shows up unexpectedly. Although these are great sensual teasers, odds are that at least one of the balloons will pop (probably due to being brushed with the cigar). A loud balloon pop can really rip a good ear. Something to look forward to?? Next time we'll talk about doing mudpack facials together.
