FREE WEDDING PLANNER, WEDDING APPAREL & THE WEDDING GOWN2 Free Wedding Planners for an Elegant, Inexpensive Wedding Free Wedding Planner #1 | Free Wedding Planner #2 A thrift store is an excellent place to begin looking for that perfect wedding gown. You may be fortunate enough to find a wedding gown that has been recently donated by an up-scale store that has never even been worn. And even the 'worn' wedding gowns have only been worn once, right? In fact, the majority of the wedding gowns have less wear than ones in specialty shops because they may have actually been worn for less time. Face it, ‘trying on to see if it fits’ puts wear and tear on the garment. Expect to pay from $6.95 on up plus tax – and yes, they ARE cheap! One of the best deals I happened upon in a thrift store was a brand new Gunny Sax ivory lace dress with a price tag of $64.95. The thrift store’s price after tax: $6.30. And many times, they will have attendant's gowns in various sizes that have been donated - that may even be new! Your family is another excellent source to obtain that special wedding gown. Women are usually flattered when you ask if you can wear their wedding gown for your special day. If you opt for this suggestion, remember that you’ll have to take special care on your special day not to soil the treasured garment so it may not be worth the added stress. Rental places can provide you with everything but the kitchen sink when it comes to wedding apparel. However, prices tend to be expensive and a bit overpriced. Most of the time you can purchase the item new rather than renting. Other great spots for gently used wedding attire are estate, yard, and garage sales, flea markets and your friends. Check out the Internet auction houses as well. You never know what may pop up! FREE WEDDING PLANNER, THE BRIDAL BOUQUETA bit of ribbon in hues of your wedding colors, a thatch of fresh flowers – either silk or real, and a bit of greenery are all it takes to create a beautiful bouquet. Wildflowers are generally prevalent through Spring and Summer Autumn is also blessed with wildflowers though they are less prolific than during the warmer months of the year. Take a drive down a country road and you ’ll be amazed at what you might find. Or, opt to purchase an inexpensive bunch of flowers at the market. Cut them down to size on the day of the wedding, then band them together with floral wire and ribbon. Omit the ribbon and place the short stems in a glass of water in the fridge to keep them at their best. Remove just before the wedding ceremony and attach the ribbon. You can save enough money on your bouquet to spend another night in your honeymoon hotel, lodge or cabin. You can also go totally ‘wild’ or totally ‘silk’. The choice is yours! BRIDAL VEIL & FLOWERSMatch your bridal wreath (halo/headband) to your bridal bouquet. Visit your local craft store to purchase ‘wire’ that loops like a halo. Intertwine your flowers and greenery throughout the wire to make a very elegant and romantic bridal wreath. If you have a wedding gown and are lacking the veil, check the thrift stores. The veils are usually locked in counters at the front of the store. Visit firsthand rather than calling to inquire. I was paying for a purchase one day and the clerk told the caller than they didn’t have any veils without the dresses. On my way out the door, three veils lay nesting in a huge glass case with a price tag on each of them. But I must say, I have to give the clerk a little lead way as the store was exceptionally busy when the call came in. You can opt to create your own veil if you’re extremely crafty. Again, use some loop wire with wispy netting. Let your imagination run wild! You can go with any color and even sew romantic items on your veil. It’s your wedding your choice! This works well for theme weddings. WEDDING RINGSMost engagement and wedding rings are not wise investments. Rings are a lot like new cars the minute that you drive off the lot, the value decreases. Even pawn shops won’t offer you a fraction of what you initially paid for your rings. However, some couples make their ring purchases based on emotions and the longevity of the ring. In other words, it’s a lifetime investment that’s meaningful to them. Most jewelers will finance a couple just starting out. Payments can be inexpensive OR cost hundreds of dollars per month, depending on the ring choice and stone preference. If you need to keep a cap on your budget try obtaining your ring through auction houses – both online and offline look in the daily newspaper for good deals check out flea markets, pawn shops and second-hand thrift stores. Garage and estate sales can also turn up bargains. Even the dollar stores have rings that look very close to ‘the genuine’ article. It’s your money your choice.
