RINGS
Most engagement and wedding
rings are not wise investments. Rings are a lot like new cars; the minute that you drive it
off the lot, the value decreases. Even pawn shops won’t offer you a fraction of what you initially
paid for your rings.
However, some couples make
their ring purchases based on emotions and the longevity of the ring. In other words, it’s
a lifetime investment that’s meaningful to them. Most jewelers will finance a couple just starting
out.
Payments can be under fifty dollars to hundreds of dollars a month, depending on the
couple’s ring choice and stone preference.
If you need to keep a cap
on your budget try obtaining your ring through auction houses – both online and offline; look
in the daily newspaper for good deals; check out flea markets, pawn shops and second-hand thrift
stores.
Garage and estate sales can also turn up bargains. Even the dollar stores have rings
that look very close to ‘the genuine’ article. It’s your money; your choice.
Ebay (www.ebay.com) is one
of the better known Internet sources. Don’t be hesitant to email the seller with any questions
you may have on a possible purchase. Also, check out the ratings they' ve received from other buyers.
This feature is a big plus for ebay purchasers.
