Not.... The majority of surfers are still floating through the web using old fashioned wings. While everyone wants the Speed Demon access, few are willing to fork over the money. The Internet is a bit like the old CB's where everyone had a handle. "Big Bubba" lived for his CB as did "Darlin' Jill". But with time, the interest faded. Are there still CB's around? Of course! In turn, the Internet is no longer the fascinating child of the future, which paints a very different picture than just a few short years ago. No one can actually predict where it's headed either, so an online business is a big risk. Therefore, when showcasing your site you'll want to create a first impression that will be stenciled on the mind and hearts of all who enter your faire electronic gates. You'll want a site that dazzles the eye. And what dazzles? Artwork, photos, graphics - some of which you can scoop for free, especially if you have a non-commercial site. But let's face it - although graphics are fun and graphics are eye-catching and graphics help get your site message across loud and clear - they also eat up bandwidth. In addition to precious bandwidth, they take a very long time to load on most computers in use these days. If your page is packed with animation or large graphics, who is going to wait around for 10 minutes for everything to download? Not many. To keep your site manageable, one big plus is keeping your graphic content at a controllable level. If you have purchased large graphics that take a long time to load, then work on resizing them. There are several programs that will do this job in a flash! If that isn't an option, then limit the number that you place per page. An interesting thing that I have learned through experience is that some animated graphics are actually smaller than some clipart. You certainly wouldn't think so!
