Touch of Fire - a free short romance story Where the Four Winds Meet - (444 pages) She was drawn back to the present as Leif drawled, "So, it's English you are so concerned about and not the weasel. Perhaps I have miscalculated-" "How did Sonny manage to get over here?" she demanded, her white-gold hair a beautiful mass about her angry looking face. She chose not to argue with this cowboy, rather to toss questions at him. It was much easier pinning the insect to the board than chasing it through a field of poison ivy she recklessly decided. He shrugged. "I believe he rode the mare Uranus - a rather fitting ride for a proctologist wouldn't you agree?" Click to continue Arizona Angels - (95 pages) Throwing the door open she encountered Bowie's towering form, his large arm extended, Lee dangling in mid air like a large spider. Lynx gasped, her hands going out to rescue the squalling child. "This demonic little hooligan was window peeping into the honeymoon cottages! God only knows what she saw, but she seemed quite satisfied," he went on, his eyes scorching over Lynx's shocked face. click to continue |
Free Webmaster Tips - Page Layout & Web Design - Putting the puzzle together without super glue...Have you ever visited someone's home that was filled with beautiful objects yet the area looked like a tornado just hit? Sometimes, little is more when it comes to web design. Remember that every surfer has different tastes and what appeals to you may or may not appeal to every member of your audience. This is one of the 'iffiest' areas for the Webmaster. Layout & Design: Begin by visiting your competition. Research their layouts and see if anything catches your eye. What do you like about the sites? What annoys you? Odds are, these same findings will mirror your visitor's thoughts. There's certainly not an accepted layout set in stone where Web Design is concerned. You may choose to have a free-floating website. Or you may decide to run your content right down the middle of the page and have two small columns on each side reserved for links, special buttons that lead to other topics on your site, and advertising. Another thing that you will want to decide upon is a 'portal page' - a page that opens up your website. Here are a few things that you can control when it comes to web layout and design:- always do a spell check - check for grammatical errors - After you write your content, put it away for a few days then read it. A fresh eye will not only catch mistakes, but you'll get a good sense of how solid your article is to the reader. - Though making money is certainly one of the goals of most Webmasters, it's not wise to overburden your website with tons of ads. Overburdened translates to an overwhelmed reader. If the page is busier with ads than it is with meaty content, your visitor isn't going to sit and stay a while. And popups and flashing banners work better than Draino on a clogged drain in getting rid of the host. Therefore, choose affiliates wisely and keep them at a minimum. If you choose to sell your own material, market it attractively. Make your visitors think, "Mary Ann or Ginger?" Not, "Mrs. Howell or Ginger?" Or worse yet, "Mrs. Howell or Skipper?" - Take care in the use of animated graphics as they will cause your page to download at a snail's pace. By implementing these simple, and perhaps obvious techniques at your website, you will ensure that your visitors will be welcomed to a showcased topic and will desire to stay a while as well as keep coming back again and again.
