The majority of Webmasters are under the impression that they must submit their site to the search engines in order to get into the queue - but that's an old Internet Wives' Tail. Search engines are like big spiders with big legs crawling through cyberspace, collecting treasure and leaving the dust behind as they go. Therefore, your priority should be invested in doing things that will make your site have more value to its visitors. Does this mean that you shouldn't submit to the search engines? Of course not! If you want to submit, then do. Just understand that eventually, your content (i.e. treasure) will be picked up by the Search Engine Spiders. So thus far, we have established that the search engines will of course bring the people to your site. The higher you rank, the higher your odds rise that people will see your site and come to visit. So ranking is extremely important. - Another way to generate traffic is to effectively use keywords in the title of your pages. - Link to noteworthy sites that rank high in the search engines. Ranking to a site that is poor isn't going to do you any good. - The best Traffic Tool isn't in pretty graphics, or contests, or registering at search engines, or site awards, or posting your site in eons of forums - your best tool is time itself. Time will allow your site's content to saturate. Therefore, whether you list your site in a myriad of search engines, or add graphics until you can't see an inch of text - give your site time to sink in - to the Internet and to the visitors.
